Enchanted Amazon

At the specified time, transfer to the airport for a flight to Leticia (Flight not included). Upon arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to the pier to board a boat that will take us to the Calanoa Natural Reserve. After a 1 hour and 40 minutes journey on a shared boat, arrival at the reserve and accommodation. Then, a visit to the reserve's gardens and an explanation of the conservation project. In the evening, a guided night walk in the primary forest led by experts who have known the jungle for generations. Here, you can enjoy the sounds of insects, frog calls, owls, and nocturnal monkeys, as well as plants that bloom at night and phosphorescent fungi. The jungle has a different character during the day and at night, and it changes between the high water and low water seasons. Don't forget to bring your flashlights. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Notes: 

• The arrival flight to Leticia must arrive in the morning hours since the last boat from Leticia to Calanoa departs at 13:00 hours. Otherwise, Passenger will be responsible for the expenses.

• The tourism tax upon entering Leticia is not included. The fee is 30,000 COP, approximately 7 USD, and must be paid directly at the destination.

Breakfast at the reserve. In the morning, visit to a nearby indigenous village (Mocagua) to get an insight into the daily life of its people. There, you can see how they live and conduct their lives around water, in constant interaction with the jungle. Depending on the season, you may visit the communities of El Vergel, San Martín, or Palmeras. In the afternoon, after lunch, hike through the Calanoa Natural Reserve to the Matamata stream, on the border with the Amacayacu Natural Park, where a canoe will pick you up to paddle back to Calanoa (if water levels permit). Along the way, you can observe high jungle landscapes, streams, birds, monkeys, and possibly some mammals. You'll also learn about plant and insect adaptations, medicinal plants, indigenous forest legends, and myths. During the high-water season, you can navigate through the flooded forest, providing a wonderful experience. Return and accommodation.

Breakfast at the reserve. In the morning, hike on Mocagua Island, considered part of the Amacayacu National Park, showcasing unique species of flora and fauna. You will see lakes with the beautiful Amazon water lilies, including the world's largest, the Victoria Amazonica. During high water levels, the tour is conducted by canoe. In the afternoon, boat trip to the Peruvian bank in search of pink dolphins and to enjoy the sunset from the Amazon River, always different and with all the colors of the universe. Return and accommodation.
