GENERAL NOTES FOR CAÑO CRISTALES:

If the minimum number of seats for the air transfer is not met, part of the transfer will be done by land.

The validity of this program is subject to changes according to the rainy season in Caño Cristales.

The tours and excursions included may have modifications depending on the availability of cargo by Cormacarena and Parques Nacionales Naturales de Colombia, entities responsible for ensuring the sustainability of the reserve.

All services in Caño Cristales are only in shared regular service.

If you travel on a Saturday and the next Monday is a holiday, Caño Cristales trail is not visited on day 3rd; an alternative place determined by Cormacarena and National Natural Parks of Colombia is visited.

The yellow fever vaccine certificate must be presented when boarding the flight to La Macarena, with a validity of at least 15 days before the flight (Consult with your doctor before).

Departure and return times may change according to aeronautical permits, air congestion, and weather conditions.

As it is a charter flight, the air ticket is linked to the stay, so the plan does not allow changes of date or refunds, even for medical reasons.

Maximum allowed weight for luggage is 10 kilograms per person in the hold and 3 kilograms as hand luggage. (Small airplanes).

A staff member will contact travelers one day before departure to confirm the meeting point at the Bogotá airport.

According to the regulations of the National Natural Parks of Colombia, entry to Caño Cristales is allowed for children over 5 years old.


RECOMMENDATIONS TO CONSIDER AT THE DESTINATION:

At the time of booking, please inform us about your physical fitness, health difficulties, and dietary restrictions. This information will allow us to provide you with good service and help authorities assign a trail that suits your conditions.

Vegetarians or those with special dietary requirements, please inform us in writing at the time of booking.

Caño Cristales can only be visited during the rainy season, which is why flight delays are common during this season.

Bring local currency (Colombian pesos) in low denominations in cash, as there are no currency exchange offices in the municipality.

Bring identification for all tours.

Participate in talks offered by environmental authorities.

Wear suitable footwear, preferably high-top shoes, as the walks are on sandy terrain and rocky trails.

The tours are for ecological tourism; therefore, the use of sunscreen and repellents is prohibited. It is recommended to bring a hat, long-sleeved shirt or sweatshirt, quick-drying clothes, comfortable and waterproof shoes.

It is not allowed to bring hallucinogens or alcoholic beverages.

It is prohibited to bring plastic bottles into the rivers for hydration. For this reason, each passenger must bring their own non-disposable plastic container and return it to the hotel or their initial destination when the excursion is finished.

It is recommended to bring a small suitcase that protects your belongings from moisture and is easy to carry on your back for more comfortable walks.

Environmental entities assign trails according to the visitor's physical capacity, as there are trails of different difficulty levels: short, medium, and long. The latter require greater physical capacity to traverse (approximately 7-hour walks). Therefore, it is essential to express the passenger's physical capacity.

Not recommended for people with mobility restrictions, pregnant women, or elderly individuals.

Do not consume river water in Caño Cristales.

Avoid getting too close to dangers, such as strong currents and steep abysses. Safety is everyone's commitment.

Stay close to the guide to avoid straying from the assigned trail.

Caño Cristales is a nature destination; therefore, its hotel infrastructure is not luxurious or 5-star. On the contrary, accommodations are comfortable, clean, and peaceful.

Check-in at the hotel is at 15:00 hrs, and check-out is at 13:00 hrs

Hotels in Caño Cristales do not have hot water.

It is important to inform if you suffer from any illness and allergies.

The air transport service from Bogotá in our tour packages operates on charter flights. If the seats are not filled, the air transportation service will be provided from Guaymaral Airport or with a stopover in Villavicencio on national airlines. In such cases, the air transportation service from Villavicencio is provided on single-engine planes for 3, 5, 9 passengers, twin-engine planes for 8 passengers, DC3 planes with a capacity of 18 passengers, Jet Stream planes with a capacity of 19 passengers; the air service is provided with the available aircraft on the ground on the day of travel.

Recommendations on schedules will be provided according to the day of the flight; it is important that you provide us with all pertinent reservation information so that we can operate in the best possible way.
