A Destination of Nature and Rupestrian Art GUAVIARE

Reception at the Jorge Enrique González Airport and transfer to the hotel to drop off your luggage and prepare for your first adventure in San José del Guaviare. You will begin the Raudal Route, a fascinating journey that combines hiking, boating, and rock art. The experience starts with a 4 km walk through natural trails where you can observe the richness of the local flora and fauna. Along the way, you will discover impressive examples of rock art, ancestral remnants that tell the story of the indigenous communities that once inhabited this region. Afterward, you will board a boat to navigate the narrower second part of the Guayabero River: Angosturas II. Along the route, you will be amazed by the gigantic walls of sedimentary rocks, imposing formations petrified by minerals derived from hydrocarbons.

The tour will conclude with a typical lunch at a local farm, where you can taste the local cuisine and interact with the community. Return to the hotel to rest and prepare for the next day of exploration.

• Depending on the flight arrival time to San José del Guaviare, the Raudal Route activity will be scheduled. It is important that the flight arrives before noon.

At the agreed time, we will begin this adventure through San José del Guaviare with the Rupestrian Route, where we will hike towards "Cerro Azul." During the journey, you will be able to admire the incredible nature that stands out, as well as spot the diversity of local fauna and flora. Upon reaching the top of the hill, you will observe the imposing rupestrian paintings characteristic of the municipality, which hold great historical and archaeological significance. These are the legacy of the different indigenous communities that inhabited these areas. The tour will conclude with a typical lunch at a local farm, where you can interact with the local community. Return to the hotel.

At the scheduled time, meet at the hotel for breakfast at a local restaurant, and then begin the last activity of this wonderful adventure through San José del Guaviare. The hike to Puerta de Orión will begin, an incredible rock formation approximately 12 meters high, named because it resembles a door, and locals say that through it, you can see the Orion Belt. You will then continue the hike to “Caño Sabana,” a completely magical place where you can admire the aquatic plants known as "water lilies" (Macarenia clavijeria), which, due to their beautiful color, make the river stand out. Swimming is prohibited here to help preserve the flower. After enjoying this beautiful landscape and taking some photos, you will continue the walk to “Trankilandia,” a farm where you can enjoy natural water pools and refresh yourself after the hike.

The tour will end with a typical lunch, after which you will head to the airport, taking with you the best memories of this destination filled with nature, adventure, and culture.
