Where the highest coastal mountain range in the world begins to rise from the sea, lies South America's oldest European-founded town. With outstanding colonial architecture, white-sand beaches, and turquoise waters, Santa Marta is one of the most important tourist destinations in Colombia and a must-see city that will captivate you with its magical charm.
DAY 1 Your adventure starts here
Welcome to Santa Marta, the land of sun, happiness, culture, and ancestral traditions. We will pick you up at the airport to take you to the hotel of your choice. Remember that all your accommodation is included in this tour, so you don't have to worry about paying for anything when you arrive.
DAY 2 A history and culture tour with a dash of tropical charm
After breakfast, we will pick you up at your hotel. We will take you on a history and culture tour at the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, a historical hacienda from the early 17th century where the famous political leader Simon Bolivar spent his last days in 1830. The construction has Spanish colonial-style architecture, with wide corridors, and gardens. It also has a collection of original objects and documents arranged to recreate the atmosphere when Bolivar lived there. Then we will visit the Cathedral Basilica, a neoclassical-style church that keeps valuable religious relics brought from Rome in the 17th century.
DAY 3 A close encounter with nature
We will visit one of Colombia's most stunning national parks and a popular destination for international and local visitors. The Tayrona National Natural Park is a protected area for its great diversity of flora, fauna, and countless archaeological remains of the Tayrona people. With an extension of 15,000 hectares, it is home to the Pueblito sector, Cabo San Juan, and Ciudad Perdida (the Lost City), as well as endless beaches and nature trails. You can enjoy a variety of ecosystems, such as tropical rainforests, mangroves, and white-sand beaches. We will stay for a while to enjoy the crystal clear waters of Playa Cristal, a perfect destination for those seeking contemplation and relaxation.
DAY 4 See you soon, Santa Marta
Time to say goodbye to the increasingly charming Santa Marta and the beautiful coastal and mountainous attractions around it, some of Colombia's most visited destinations. We will take you from your hotel to the airport so you can continue your trip to your next destination. We hope you have enjoyed this magical paradise, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
